Growing up in Montreal, Mathys made his first contact with the circus art at the age of 9. It is thanks to a program called Art Nomades, passing through his primary school, that this young man discovers an art that will later become his passion. Encouraged by one of his teachers, Mathys decided to dive deeper into the world of circus, asking his parents to enroll him at the National Circus School of Montreal. During these many years at this school, he developed his agility mainly through acrobatics and the Chinese pole but also touch various other disciplines. Soon to be graduated from ENC, Mathys is very excited to make a new start.

After falling in love with the world of circus Jesse moved to the culturally rich city of Montreal to pursue a professional career in this world of wonders. Born from his love of different movement styles and the way that they interact, Jesse pursued many different disciplines, including: Chinese pole, Hand to Hand, and acrobatics. Now, having become his own person, and having begun the process of cultivating a unique style of movement combining many disciplines, Jesse looks forward to the future and all of the experiences that this life will bring.

Both Chinese pole specialists, Mathys and Jesse had the chance to collaborate together on the creation of a new circus apparatus theTrampo-mat, thanks to CRITAC (Center for research, innovation and transfer in circus arts). At first glance these 2 artists understood that they will have to create a whole new lexicon and will have to use their creativity to its full potential. These 2 artists have been working hard together on this new apparatus for almost 3 years and are not about to give up.

ÉPREUVE SYNTHÈSE 2021

Thanks to recent collaborations between ENC and CRITAC (Center for research, innovation and transfer in circus arts). We were able, together, to conceive the idea of the Trampo-Mat. Several installations have already been made and we have come to a consensus that this type of installation allows us greater flexibility and freedom in our technical movement and artistic creation. It's been almost 3 years that we form a duo and are always exploring different ways of moving
